Taking on a ghostly role tomorrow afternoon! All Soul's Walk Kennebunk!

Tonight I am excited about my second All Soul's Walk tomorrow from 1-4, with the All Soul's Dinner following at 7:00pm! The All Soul's Walk is put on by the Brick Store Museum, which is Kennebunk's historical museum. The Walk is really a progression of costumed "ghosts" of real citizens of Kennebunk who are burried in our Hope Cemetary, and whose stories will excited you!


I participated in the Walk last year, and although it was chilly it was lots of fun! There are about 15 "ghosts" on the walk who stand next to the graves of the 19th-century citizens they are portraying, and tell their "personal" story 7-8 times throughout the day.

This year I'm excited because after doing it last year, I am now a vetran of the walk. I will be portraying the same character I played last year, so I think I will be a lot more confident in knowing my story.

My character is the nanny for the Moody family, who lived in Kennebunk in the 1800's. Horatio Moody was a sea captain during the shipping era of Kennebunk, and his family, as well as their nanny, often accompanied him on his voyages. On the maiden voyage of his ship the Rambrandt, his two young sons were tragically swept overboard and lost at sea.

Mr. and Mrs. Moody returned to their Italianate home some months later, and Horatio retired soon thereafter. It was said that upong returning to their home, they found wet footprints leading into their sons' room, and wet bedclothes that reaked of seawater. It is now said that their home, 39 Summer St. in Kennebunk, is said to be haunted by the ghosts of George and Harry Moody.

As the nanny, I will be standing in costume tomorrow (my favorite part!) by the empty graves of the two Moody boys. After the walk, I will travel to the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport where I will participate in a costumed dinner as well! It should be a spook-filled Saturday and a great theatrical expirience!

My personal love-hate relationship with chaos

I'd like to applogize for blogging very infequently lately. I really do enjoy blogging after starting this summer I'd hoped to continue into the regular year, but sometimes things become so chaotic that I tell myself I really don't have the time.

                             Which is strange, because I tell myself I do have time to waste hours with the TV or Facebook. Just saying.

Anyways, a lot has been going on in the last few weeks. Our town had it's homecoming parade, and Angie was in it for the first time as a little baton twirler! I won another giveaway, a high chair worth $180, which I'm hopefully gonna sell on Ebay.

Whenever I have a ton of stuff going on in my life, such as right now, I get frequent headaches and my chest tighens up. I get stressed. It's hard to breathe.

I think it's the ever-present perfectionist within me that wants to get everything done, and get everything done right.
                Which is unfair to myself. I shouldn't expect so much And yet...
I find that I love chaos in my life as well. I get bored it I'm not doing enough, and am always eager to take on more. It's like when I se an opportunity, I forget the fact that I'm already in the middle of 50 million other things.

At the beginning of this summer, while I was juggling school and the playhouse for about two weeks and totally freaking, I came up with a quote and posted in on my bulliten board: there is beauty in a life of chaos. I made this up, and somehow it calmed me down. Ironically, on the day I wrote this quote and calmed down I ended up getting sick at the playhouse and having to come home half-way through the show.

                 But that's another story.
Basically, what my rant is coming to is that I need to feel the pressure of thinking I won't be able to get things done in order to get things done. I procrastinate to the max, and I love to hate the pressure of life closing in around me.
               I also love pumpking carving, which I found the time to do this weekend.
I have to remind myself to breathe in order to get through chaotic months such as this one, and I try not to overlook life's little blessings. Who knows, maybe there really can be beauty in a life of chaos, but we have to look for it.

ALL TEENAGED GIRLS SHOULD READ THIS VERY IMPORTANT!! Lifetime movie about girl fights!

As you can probably tell from the title of this post, (it sounds like I'm yelling!) I have something to talk about that I feel very strongly about. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ALL TEEN GIRLS READ THIS POST AND WATCH THIS MOVIE!

Last night on Lifetime, there was a movie on about a group of teen girls and specifically one girl named Haley. This movie was based on a true story, that's what's so awful about it. Haley is very smart for her age and skipped a grade, and works at a diner to have money for herself. She doesn't have many friends, but she has one close friend who is kind of nerdy but is always there for her. The girls joke about how "obnoxious" the popular girls in their grade are, and make fun of them for thinking they're all that.

One day when Haley is working, the popular girls from her school come in. She has to wait on them and when they can't pay their bill, she's forced to cover for them. Haley doesn't mind this though because the ringleader of the group, Alexa, promises to pay her back, and Haley grabs at the chance to be "included" in the popular group.


Haley leaves her old life behind and starts hanging out with Alexa and the girls. She goes to a party at Alexa's house and gets drunk for the first time, and gets her first kiss through a game of spin the bottle. Alexa and Haley become really close, and all the other girls in Alexa's group become jealous of Haley. Haley even ditches her family birthday part for Alexa!

One day, a couple of the girls in Alexa's group plot revenge on Haley for stealing Alexa from them. They creep on Haley's facebook page and find a post where she was bashing Alexa to her old friend before she was "popular." The girls show Alexa and she freaks out, and they call Haley and tell her it's over between them.


Haley's really confused because these girls are her best friends, so she goes to Alexa's house to try to work things out. When she gets there, her "friends" call her a whore and begin to beat her. They film the whole thing on an iPhone, and beat her and beat her until she's unconscious. When she wakes up, they drive her to a parking lot, drop her off, and leave her there.


Haley receives help from a lady in the parking lot and gets to a hospital, where her parents meet her. They learn what happened and also that Haley has permanent damage to her sight and hearing. Alexa's grandmother finds the video of the fight and turns the other 5 girls in. The girls, including Alexa, are sent to jail for assault and the case goes to trial.

This is all I watched because I went to bed, but I feel like every teenaged girl should see this movie. Alexa and her group of girls are the typical popular girls of any school, and Haley is that girl who just wants to fit in. In an effort to look cool by all, Haley's life is ruined forever and Alexa and her minions end up in prison.


IF YOU HAVE A DAUGHTER, SISTER, FRIEND who is a teenager, get her to watch this movie. It is a real phenomenon, and one that has been talked about on the news, that girls will stage fights just to make youtube videos. It's sick. It's horrible. And watching this movie can prevent it.

New York was amazing!

As I had previously said, I was super excited to be going to New York City for my birthday. It was AMAZING, as anticipated! We saw two shows, "How to Succeed in Business..." with Daniel Radcliffe and "Follies" with Bernadette Peters, Elaine Paige, and Jan Maxwell!

They were both unbeleivable, and I was lucky enough to get Daniel Radlciffe, Bernadetter Peters, and Jan Maxwell's autographs!! We spent lots of time in Times Square, had dinner at Sardi's and lunch at the Plaza hotel, and went to a Today show filimg! (I also shook hands with Al Roker!) Here are some pictures!!
